The train station in the City of Lingen in Emsland is being completely renovated. The goal is to restore the exterior of the historic building to its 1856 condition. During the approximately two-year construction period, passengers will find all the usual train station amenities in a mobile room solution from ELA Container.

On the ground floor, four ELA containers provide space for a travel office where tickets are sold, a kiosk, and a waiting area for passengers. The two-story mobile ELA unit provides a round 130 m2 of usable space in total. On the second floor, which is accessible by exterior stairs, there are four containers that provide office space for the construction crews. The interior modules are 2.5 meters wide, while the exterior ones are three meters wide, a configuration that makes the best possible use of the available footprint.

“We are very satisfied with the result and would like to thank ELA Container for their excellent work,” says architect Mario Fehring from the City of Lingen (Ems) Building Construction Office. As part of a competition in the run-up, 15 architects from the region and beyond had submitted suggestions for the development of the train station.
