ELA Container Sales and Duyn Kartoffelanbau GmbH are joining forces on a

pioneering project for the automated sale of potatoes. Two sales containers, the last of which was delivered in early 2025, enable farm-gate direct sales and are equipped with state-of-the-art technology to offer customers a convenient buying experience.

One of the containers at Lohnerstraße 11 in Steinfeld serves as a sales point where potatoes are available twenty-four-seven via a vending machine.

Premium equipment for maximum functionality

The sales container was customised by ELA Container Sales GmbH to suit the requirements of Duyn Kartoffelanbau GmbH. All the customer had to do was equip the interior with the appropriate technology prior to commissioning. In addition to the robust structure and functional design, the container features:

 

  • Dimensions (L x W x H): 6,055 × 2,435 × 2,890 mm
  • Reinforced floor: Load capacity of up to 500 kg/m²
  • Weatherproof: An integrated awning protects customers in any weather
  • Custom branding: The container comes with a decal featuring the Duyn Kartoffelanbau GmbH logo
  • Convenient equipment: An exterior door (1,250 x 2,000 mm) and an electric heater (2 kW) ensure comfort and accessibility 
With its custom decal, the sales container has high recognition value.
