Fraudulent emails and offers are currently being sent out that misuse the ELA Container brand.
The perpetrators pose as employees or sales partners of ELA Container to interested parties and companies and send out fake offers for containers at particularly attractive prices. In this context, they use, among other things, deceptively similar email addresses, domains, and the names of actual ELA Container employees.
How the scammers operate
Based on current information, the fraud is primarily carried out via email. Victims receive fake offers or invoices. In some cases, PDF catalogs or offer documents are also sent.
Telephone contact usually occurs only after a response to the email or after the victims have contacted the scammers themselves.
Examples of fraudulent emails
The sender addresses used by the perpetrators may vary. These often consist of a combination of the names of actual ELA Container employees and our company name or similar-sounding terms.

Please note:
- Do not open any suspicious attachments or links.
- Do not reply to suspicious messages.
- Do not transmit sensitive data.
- Do not make any payments if there are any uncertainties or if the bank account details are unusual.
- In particular, carefully review offers with unusually favorable terms.
We expressly note that business emails sent on behalf of ELA Container originate exclusively from sender addresses with the domains:
- @container.de
- @ela-container.com [.ch; .at; .nl; .be; .se; .co.uk; .dk; .pl; .fr]
Any other sender domains are a clear indication of a fraud attempt. If you receive such messages, please do not reply to them and do not open any attachments or links.
Reporting Suspicious Cases
If you have received a suspicious offer or a corresponding email, please contact your contact person at ELA Container or reach out to our central email address for reporting suspicious cases: abuse@container.de
As we are currently investigating the matter further, we ask that you, if possible, provide us with the original messages, including the complete correspondence, as an attachment (e.g., in .eml or .msg format).
The information provided will be processed exclusively for the purposes of technical analysis, preservation of evidence, and any necessary disclosure to authorities.
If payments have already been made, you also have the option of filing a report with your local police department.
