“Offshore container” - ELA system is used in the presentation of a new heavy duty system

The company NBR Offshore Logistics has presented the track-based heavy duty system NBR Crawler in Duisburg. An ELA offshore living quarter and an ELA offshore storage container served as a representative load. The NBR Crawler is a modular system of track units, which can be assembled according to the respective transportation needs and controlled as a unit. Key areas of application are the offshore industry and surfaces with a low load carrying capacity. Use in halls is also possible with modified tracks and particle filters.

NBR only uses components from renowned manufacturers for the Crawler. “Reliability and the worldwide availability of replacement parts were part of the specification in development,” says Nikolaus Berzen of NBR Offshore Logistics.

Naturally, this quality standard also applies to the containers used in the presentation. “We are very pleased that NBR chose our room modules for the market launch event,” says ELA Field Representative Klaus Lüttel.

Conversely the NBR Crawler can be disassembled into units that can be transported in containers. Only a lift truck or a small mobile crane is needed for assembly and disassembly. This keeps the costs comparatively low.

ELA Container has extensive experience in the fields of offshore logistics and offshore energy. Special offshore containers for rental and sale serve as storage, workshops, offices, kitchens, common rooms and living quarters. Among other things, offshore containers are differentiated from standard units by special coatings adapted to the conditions of use and the weather at sea, ensuring a long life span, functionality and comfort even in this harsh environment. Every ELA offshore container is inspected by Germanischer Lloyd (GL) and receives the CSC sticker as well as the required DNV 2.7-1 / EN12079-1 offshore approval.
