School project in the Netherlands

The benefits of ELA container systems really come to bear in situations were a fast response is required. In October of 2010, the Gravenburg School in Groningen (the Netherlands) was partly destroyed by a major, devastating fire. Yet instruction continued as usual. This was made possible thanks to a spacious facility made of ELA room systems, which was installed near the permanent school buildings. ELA constructed the facility within 40 days, including all infrastructure such as building lighting and the parking lot, and had it ready for occupancy at the end of the year. The system comprised of 287 mobile units was intended to bridge the gap until the fire damage was repaired, ensuring that school operations would continue undisrupted in the meantime. It offered space for 1,000 students and teachers, and was fully equipped with ELA acoustic panels for sound damping. The room systems included classrooms and sanitary facilities that were optimised for school operations. Among other things they include kitchens, storage rooms, a fire protection system, fire protection doors and air conditioners. An ELA finger protection system with childproof door hinges also ensured that the children were kept safe.
